A Ring of Endless Light

As this was part of what made A Ring of Endless Light, by Madeline L'Engle, so special to me and A.R.O.E.L. being one of the first books I used to browse people to invite to this blog I found the following poem appropriate. Enjoy...

If thou couldst empty all thyself of self,
Like to a shell dishabited,
Then might He find thee on the Ocean shelf,
And say — "This is not dead,"
—And fill thee with Himself instead.
But thou art all replete with very thou,
And hast such shrewd activity,
That, when He comes,
He says — "This is enow Unto itself
— 'Twere better let it be:It is so small and full, there is no room for Me."

And this is interesting the site that I copied the poem from: http://penelope.uchicago.edu/false.shtml

It is so fun to me to discuss all kinds of things. However, I find it increasingly hard to find people worth talking to. I would love to hear from anyone who likes a little friendly conversation, debate and discussion from time to time. Please leave your email if you would like to be added to this blog.

Hi! Thanks for your comment on "Walking in the Rain." I used to live in Tennessee and have been to Florida several times, so I know exactly what you mean about the rain there. The first time I visited I wondered why the roads had an extra lane that cars didn't use before I saw it raining and realized they were gutters. I would be interested in participating in your blog. My email is ay1ene@ay1ene.com. Thanks for the invite!

I noticed you mention several of the Wrinkle In Time book as your favorites. Mine favorite of the series however is Many Waters, that is a true classic. My e-mail is berlindu@hotmail.com. I would be interested in participating on your blog. Thanks for the invite.

I really did enjoy Many Waters as well. I was not as impressed with Troubling a Star and Both Where Young though.
